Techniques we apply...

The activator is an adjusting instrument that was developed by Dr Arlan Fuhr over 40 years ago. The benefits of activator adjusting are that it is measurable, reproducible and well researched. It is gentle enough to use on people of all ages, including newborn babies. For more information see the website at www.activator.com

Sacro-occipital technique or SOT was developed by a Chiropractor called Dr De Jarnette in 1925 and is based on the relationship between the sacrum in the pelvis and the occiput at the base of the skull via the connective tissue sheath or dura. One aspect of treatment involves the category system, which uses wedges/blocks to improve alignment of the sacrum, spine and cranial bones. For further information see www.sotoeurope.org

Thompson Technique or drop piece technique was developed by Dr Clay Thompson in the 1950’s. It utilizes a Chiropractic table with a segmented pneumatic drop system, to adjust spinal joints or other joints in the body. It is a system of low force spinal corrections using leg length checks as a form of analysis. www.thompsonchiropractictechnique.com

Bio-Geometric Integrationis a chiropractic approach based on the geometry of the human body. The scientific understanding of quantum physics is applied to health and healing. Knowing that the body is an intricate web of physical and energetic connections, allows the individual to be addressed in a truly holistic way. Combining this understanding with the use of light touches and gentle structural adjustments, the body is guided to release tension patterns. www.bgiseminars.com

At Lotus, we use a variety of Chiropractic techniques so your programme of care is always tailored to your body type and your personal needs.

The practice is based on gentle care as our Chiropractors see many children, babies and pregnant women and they find gentle techniques most suitable.

The adjusting techniques which Kimberlie and Joanne predominantly use are Activator, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), drop piece (Thompson), Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI) and some gentle manual adjustments.
